Ron McGee

Saxophone

Whether your final goal is to become a Jazz, Rock, Big Band or Classical Artist, a fundamental proficiency on the instrument is a must. I will do my best to see you reach your goal through individually formulated practice routines concentrating on technical accuracy, tonal production and precise articulation. I am most fortunate to have studied and performed with many of the world's greatest saxophonist and wish to pass on the knowledge I have accumulated over the years.

 

BIOGRAPHY BACKGROUND:


   *Detroit native Ron McGee was one of very few freshmen selected to join the University of Michigan

     Symphony band under the direction of Dr. William D. Revelli.
   *Participated in numerous performances throughout North America and Europe.
   *His mentor at Michigan was the highly respected Dr. Laurence Teal
   *Was awarded a teaching fellowship by the UofM thereby providing instruction to the Saxophone

     Class on all aspects of the instrument.
   *Was honored to be accepted to both the Conservatoires de Paris and Dijon and chose Dijon 

     becoming the first foreign student of the French Master Jean-Marie Londeix. Jean-Marie and his wife

     Janine graciously welcomed Ron into their lives.
   *Professeur Londeix and McGee concertized and gave demonstrations and the various saxophones

     traveling to 23 venues throughout the picturesque Western Regions of France. They were also

     featured on French National Television.

   *Ron McGee was awarded the "Premiere Prix du Concours" in Saxophone Performance by the

     University of Dijon.

   *He has performed in London, Paris, Calais, Bordeaux, Rome, Venice, Heidelberg, Cologne, Geneva,

     Montreal, Toronto and New York's famous "Carnegie Hall."
